Well, we got the snow. It came yesterday and it wasn't that bad. I think it took me 10 mins longer to get to work. Last night Sandy and I went out to a dinner/retirement party for my old boss. He has never seemed so at ease. We drove home last night and it was starting to get worse, but still not too bad. By the time I got the kids in bed and started doing the garbage, the tracks in the driveway were covered. I was going to get up this morning and do the driveway, but I could hear the sleet hitting the window and decided that I didn't want to be out in that. So I went back to bed. Finally got up about 7:15 and took a shower and off to work I went. For those that know where I live and where I have to go, it took me 20mins to get to Orchard Lake from my house. It then took me 1 hour and 40 mins to get from there to 8 mile and 275. I sat on 696 for an hour to get from Orchard Lake till I saw that the ramp on 275 was closed. I veered back onto 96 and tried to get off at Novi road, but no one was being nice enough to let me in up front. I don't know why? So I went to the next exit that was Beck. I took that to 8 mile and then back to work. That was the nicest part of the drive. I was constantly getting slushed by semis that didn't seem to be affected by the snow on the freeway. I may also be a little gun shy when it comes to drive in slippery conditions, in fact all of my slippery accidents have involved a semi trailer of one kind or another. Just call me jinxed.
Heard from my friend Mike today and he was telling me that his son just finished soccer (football for the rest of the world) this past weekend, which means that it hasn't gotten cold in FLA. Oh well we will enjoy our snow and miss our hockey because we don't want to drive in it. But hey I will get to spend some time cleaning the driveway off.
Hope you are having a nice day and think of me when I make the 2 hour ride home from work tonight.
