Wow what a week. Its been very busy at work and the weather has warmed up to summer temperatures. I can't believe that its already 85 degrees out there. I just got home from hockey and its still 75 out there. This is like the middle of summer. That's ok, its going to be back in the 40's or 50's for the weekend. Yesterday Sandy and I went to see Guster in concert. I know that most people don't know who these guys are but they are great and their percussionist plays a mean set of bongos I would recommend going to see them highly. The funniest thing about the concert was it was in Ann Arbor (the home of The University of Michigan for those that don't know), and I think we were the oldest people in there.
Tonight I got to go to school with Garrett. His teacher put on a Daddy's night. We got to go in and do some art projects, the kids sang songs and we ate Pizza. The projects were 1) a kite, It was a lot of fun and Garrett and I both realized that we have no artistic ability what so ever. We saw some of the other kits and they had beautiful pictures on them and ours was just a bunch of scribbles. If it was on the computer I could have done better. The next project was a Tie for Daddy and Garrett cut it out. He is pretty good with the scissors, he is also pretty good with picking out the right color of wallpaper to match an outfit. I had a green shirt on tonight and he got a green piece of wallpaper with white flowers on it. For snack time Garrett ate as well as he normally does, not much. Then came the time to sing and all the kids were just adorable. She played Garrett's favorite song, which is called Sammy and its about a kid that is sent to the store to get some bread and he thinks of all these different ways to get there. I almost cried watching him. I was so happy for him, he has grown up so much already. The school year is coming to an end and he will be going into kindergarten next year. He is no longer my baby. I still have Sean and Nick for a bit, but Sean is going to start school in the fall.
Hockey was fun tonight. We got our butts kicked but it was good exercise. On the drive home I was so happy, it must have been from the 2 beers I had, that I was singing to the gustier songs and enjoying the wind wiping through the car. I know 2 beers what light weight, I find that I lose about 5 to 10 pounds when I skate and I think gets me happy.
I'm off to bed so I can work in the morning. Oh yea, I hate to say this but my beloved Red Wings aren't going to make it out of the first round. I predict that they will lose in six games. I hope that I'm wrong.
