Have you ever noticed that certain smells can remind of you things. For example. I was walking into to work from the parking lot this morning and passing some wet pine needles on the ground. Their smell brought back memories of being a kid up north at our cottage and going to the beach at the State park. We always had to walk through a bunch of pine trees to get to the beach. Boy life was so much easier back then.
Last night was Garrett's last T-ball game. As much fun as I had watching him play, I was glad for it to be over. He had fun with it and that is important, but it was just a long season. It did end up on a funny note though, in the 2nd inning a ball was hit past Garrett at 2nd base. He ran to the outfield to get it and was tackled by his friends Jason and John again like he did in the first practice of the season. Then looking like fun the had their teammate Alicia jump on the pile also. I have never seen 3 boys get up so quick. They won't be like that later in life. There are days I wish I could be jumped by a girl.
Being that last night was Thursday, it also ment that it was hockey night. I haven't really had anything good to say about it lately, but I really had fun last night. I needed it after the stressfully week I was having. I scored on 2 breakaways, got stoned on 2 breakaways and hit the opposite post on a shot through the crease. I also had a couple of good passes that turned into goals. The only downer for the night was a guy separated his shoulder on a play that I made on him. I defended him out to the boards and he lost his balance and fell into them. I didn't know till after we were done that he got hurt and I feel really bad about that. I know what it feels like I had gone through it last year when someone checked me when I was off balance. We are not out there to hurt or be hurt, it just supposed to be fun.
We finally got all the data back on the file server and things are looking good and then the skies here turned dark and it started raining and all I could think was here we go again.
The 2 older boys are going to be staying at Grandma's on Saturday night. We tried to pawn Nick off on them, but they didn't think they could handle him also. But it will be more peaceful at the house that night.
Have a great day / weekend!
