I'm not sure what the going rate either. Ethan our five year old lost two so far and we....i mean the tooth fairy.... gave him a dollar for each. i think when i was little, the going rate was around a twenty five cents if i recall correctly.

I got screwed over as a kid- 50 cents a tooth.
Dollar sounds fair to me.
