Weird Movie, Fun Night

Just got done watching Vanilla Sky. Wow that was a weird movie, I would have never figured that was how it was going to be. I’m still confused if this is a dream or not.

We did something fun tonight. We turned the computers off. I know for me its like pulling my plug. But, we went downstairs and played hockey, Garrett and Daddy against Sean and Mommy for a while at least. Sean said that mommy was a bad goalie and he wanted me. We won of course.

Today we are going to look at some houses and I will get to see my parents who have had to suffer being in Hawaii for the last 3 weeks.

Vanilla Sky was definitely a weird movie. This is how I understood it- after his accident, he was unable to accept how his life became. Went to that strange hospital and had himself killed- assisted suicide- where his body would die but his mind would continue on in a virtual reality sort of way. The hospital was able to make his life what he actually wanted it to be. However, his mind started remembering the past and that interferred with the "film" that the organization was feeding him.

Yeah- weird movie! That explanation above is what I gathered after looking it up on this site that explains movie plots. That explanation made sense to me, anyway.

My heart goes out to your parents.. Poor, poor souls.. NOT.

LOL As I type this, Darin is watching it himself. I didn't read your comments as I don't want to know what happens, I haven't watched it yet.

I loved that movie. i just love movies with interesting twists in them. Memento is another of my favs that deals with memory (or lack there of) and how the mind can play tricks on you. and if you like weird : have you seen Mulholland Drive? i loved that one too. it's by David Lynch the guy who made Twin Peaks and Blue Velvet.
Mulholland Drive is similar to vanilla sky i.e. dreams and remembering things differently than what actually happened.

Dan! OMG! I just watched Mulholland Drive several weeks ago and I am still racking my brain trying to figure that one out. I love Lynch but that one got me. I don't get it. I feel like such an idiot too. Care to explain it to me? LOL Simple words, please. ;-)

Saw it, liked the girl (not the blond). Especially the birthmark. Between this one and Minority Report, looks like Tommy is trying to branch out a bit. I had a toughter time with Minority Report than I did with Vanilla Sky - I think my theater stagecraft work over the years lead me straight to understanding the unnatural sky colors for the effect of a dream piece.

BTW, it's sometimes fun to let the wife win......
