Reading Moody Mama’s post started to make me think. When I was a kid, I would hear the ice cream truck and be able to run into the house and get money or beg mom for about 5 minutes when I didn’t have any. Now that I’m the parent. I hate to hear that truck come down the street. My kids have learned to yell stop at it and every now and then he will stop. The problem that I have noticed with this generation of ice cream man is that they have no clue that they should drive slow down the street. At 75 MPH down the street, you are not going to hear the kids and they are not going to be able to get money quick enough to get back outside.
Then there is the announcements. I remember when the Good Humor man would come down the street and he would play his bells, now we have this one truck that comes down and it has really loud obnoxious music and then every now and then it will have what sounds like a clown yelling “hello”. Its very scary and I have often thought about taking a shotgun out and shooting the clown head off the top.
