Our cellar is no bigger then a regular bathroom, but it still took me 4 1/2 hours to get all the stuff out of it. We had so much stuff packed in there, trying to make the basement look bigger. Its funny now that its out of the cellar, it looks like it takes up a lot more of the basement then it did when it was in the cellar.
I started this last night because it was garbage night and I knew that there was stuff in there that could be thrown out. I have a nasty habit of keeping the boxes from every electronic device I have ever purchased. You never know when you might have to take it back or send it in for repair, but there should be a time limit on the time you keep the box. I was throwing out boxes for phones that I no longer had, but they were just so buried in this stuff.
The biggest portion of stuff thrown out was my homework, test and notes from High school and college. I had 4 mike crates filled with this stuff that I knew I was never going to look at again. I couldn’t stand it the first time I looked at it. So gone it is. The other thing that puzzled me was why did I think that I would ever use my computer books from class again. I have what probably cost about $2000 in books that I never sold back and have never opened since. I know that I would have only gotten back $1000 for them, but hey it would be a good amount of money for my new TV that I would like to get.
There was also some letters from old girlfriends. It was funny read them. Its funny what was important to them back in 7th and 8th grade. I had a ton of letters from my girlfriend in HS and the first couple of years on college, but for the life of me I can’t find them. I must have thrown them out years ago. I did find lots of pictures of her. Those I kept, Sandy was ok with that.
This moving stuff is not going to be fun either.
