My son has started 1st grade this year. I thought it was bad that we had to sell candy for soccer that we already paid for and then I had to pay for the candy to, because all the other people at work are in the same boat and they don’t want to pay. Then there was t-ball where you had sell raffle tickets, but if you sold them all you would get the money back that you paid to play, so we so 5 dollars worth, everyone we knew also had to sell them and we weren’t going to change money. Then school starts and they have a candy sale, so I have to bug everyone again, that gets done and we are happy, now I hear that we are going to get pizza kits to sell every month and this time we are going to include the pre schoolers, so yea, now I have two to sell for. Then just today Sandy tells me that we they are having a fun(d) run at school and we are going to have to get pledges for it. Don’t these people know that shit they give to kids to do doesn’t get done my the kids. I thought I already paid enough in school taxes and now I have to pay more just to send my kid to school or play sports. It has gotten ridiculous and I think we as parents need to stand up and demand that it sucks. We don’t have tree’s growing money in the backyard, but if you have one, let me know I will be over to help you pick it.
Down with Fun(d) Raising!!!!!

I don't look forward to that shit when my kids start school. I don't think it is fair to ask that of parents- talk about unnecessary stress. If I lived closer, I would buy some candy from you.

I totally agree buddy. Taxes keep going up, and they keep cutting school stuff. If somebody ran a buisness like this, they'd be bankrupt in no time because they would no longer have any customers. My Dad says that if things keep going this way, they will no loger have any sports in school anymore.. Farmington was looking at cutting track and wrestling this year to save cash.

I feel your pain. We are selling popcorn tins for Cub Scouts. I feel like such a jerk for asking people to give. I know that I don't want someone asking me to buy stuff, but I do it because in 2 months I'll be asking them to buy from us, but still. It's a terrible endless cycle. Now, having said that, wanna buy a popcorn tin? LOL.

It's disgusting to have to constantly sell/pimp for the school. Private groups like scouts, soccer clubs, etc I can understand. But schools?? Ugh! I throw them right out. I don't HAVE to do it. I also attend the PTA meetings so I have been asking questions all the time. LOL. I don't think they liek me too much. Heh.
