Nicholas The Painter

As a father you always hope that your kids would be interested in what you are doing and want to join in too. My first two wanted nothing to do with the whole kitchen thing, maybe they understand that when I’m doing something I don’t want to do, they should stay out of my way. But not the two year old. He wanted to know what the pink stuff was that I was putting on the wall. I told him that it was Spackle and its supposed to fill in the holes. It was Monday when I told him. Tuesday I got up out of bed at 10:00 to start working again and was told by Sandy that Nick was sitting in the middle of the floor with the open tub of Spackle. Eating it. I guess when I said it fills up holes, he thought it was something you could eat. Hell it was pink wasn’t it. No damage there. I had also remembered that he had asked Sandy if he could help her paint this morning, so she let him play with the roller. I was down in the family room working on the computer for a little bit before having to get back up to it when I heard a noise that sounded like a paint brush, knowing that Sandy was sitting here with me, that could only mean one thing. Sure enough, the open can of paint, that I left opened, was now being used to paint the walls. Luckily it was a wall that we were doing and was already done, I just had to fill it in. but the tarp was in bad shape. He had filled his brush across the room and dragged it all the way across to paint the opposite wall. i don’t know how he didn’t get any on his clothes.

Moral of the store, watch out what you ask for, you might just get it.
