Men and Woman Shopping

Men and Woman shop differently! Sandy and I went out for our yearly shopping trip, which is usually just a big trip to toys r us (where I can have fun in all the aisles), but this year she didn’t have the opportunity to get stuff for other people so we had to go to the mall also. When I shop for people. I have a rough idea of what I’m looking for and know that something will just jump out at me. Sandy has to look at 50 things in 50 different stores and then sometimes she goes back and forth between stores. I was pretty tired at the end of the day, but I will say the funniest and most embarrassing thing to me was that we were buying this gift and it was tagged at $14.99, the box was a little torn, so the manager said that we could have $2.00 off on it. When it rang up, it was for $14.99, but Sandy was sure that the ad that morning had said that it was $12.99, so she is fighting over this $2.00 with the manager after the manager was going to give her $2.00 off anyway. They couldn’t find the add anywhere and we stood there holding up the line for about 15 minutes trying to save $2.00. I don’t think my time is worth the dam $2.00 that we were fighting over, but she stood there and fought and lost in the end, but as soon as we got home, she pulled out the ad and said, I told you so. I didn’t really care, I offered to give her $2.00 out of my pocket, but it was the principle of the thing. Whatever, there are a million people out there shopping and I don’t want to deal with them anymore then I have to. Guys walk in something looks good, and they buy it. I can do all my shopping in 3 hours at most. Yesterday took close to 8. I felt like I was at work.

Forgot to mention how the day started off. We got a wonderful covering of snow, which makes me happy and gets me into the Christmas mood. We were driving to her parents house and there is a Michigan left (where you have to go through the light, make a left through a turn around back onto the road going the other way so that you can make a right onto the street that you just came across), we always get caught at the light and it has a no turn on right, so I decided to cut through the strip mall parking lot to show Sandy how we can cut this light and not have to deal with it. It was one of those days where if we had gone to the light, we would have made it through on the green, but I went through the parking lot anyway to show here, we come around the back of the building (remember the snow on the road) start sliding and hit a parked car behind the building. We weren’t moving that fast so there was no damage to there car and there was just a black mark on ours and I didn’t car so we moved on and that is how the wonderful shopping trip started.

Oh yea the big present, we decided months ago that we were going to get the boys an Air hockey table for christmas and sears had a decent one with a good price. We saw the price on sale and then not and then on sale again, but thought we would have no problem getting it, well we were wrong. They weren’t going to have anymore in till March (oops, my bad), so we went home and called about 10 different sears and I also looked online, but no luck. So now I was pissed that I didn’t get off my ass and get it earlier, but I knew of another sporting good store that had them, so we went over there and paid $50 more then we would have for the other one, but I think the boys will like it just the same. I have to go back with the van tonight and pick it up. We had left the van with my in laws so they could drive the kids around if they needed too.

So a very eventful day for us and I was dead tired when I got home.

Good GAWD! I am exhausted just reading about your shopping adventure.

Never question a woman when she knows she saw something on sale. We will argue for 10cents if we have to. Holiday or not!

I'm with Tom--I won't argue with the cashier over a couple of bucks. I used to work in retail, and I was screamed at SO MANY TIMES by people as if I was intentionally trying to screw them over. By all means, though--direct plenty of obscenities towards the managers. They have the authority to give discounts whether they claim it's their policy to give them or not.

I don't know...I'm a female, and I actually shop more like you do. Guess that's why I prefer shopping by myself.
