My Good Deed

After two nights of holiday work, we were able to mail out our Christmas cards this morning. I know we are late and most people that read this are going to get one, so let me wish you a happy holiday now.

It would have been faster if it weren’t for that shitty $300 HP Photosmart 1115 printer that I have. It was jamming every other sheet for no reason. It takes a lot of work to print when you have to keep canceling the jobs and resubmitting and then wasting the photo paper. At least the envelopes went well after I got them all setup correctly. Those came off the laser printer and after 11 years that thing still works like a champ and its only on its second toner cartridge. Can’t say that for the photo printer. It eats ink cartridges, but not as bad as the Lexmark that I had before.

Garrett and Sandy worked together this morning to put all the pictures into the envelopes and put stamps on them. You know the cute little snowman ones. The great thing that has ever happened the the regular mail is the sticky stuff they sell now. You don’t have to lick the stamps or the envelopes anymore. That is cool and its much faster.

So I left home with a stack of envelopes on my way to work I pass the post office and this where my good deed came in. Just like every other dumb ass government building, the parking is horrible and those that are parked can’t get out because of those that are waiting in line to drop their mail in the box. As was the case today, the car in front of me was up just enough that she couldn’t see the SUV coming out of the parking spot and just before they were going hit, I laid on the horn and the SUV pulled back forward. By the time the driver in front of me realized that I wasn’t honking at her she waved to say thank you for not letting her get hit. I think, maybe it was her finger she was waving at me.

Nothing else eventful on the way to work today. I met my father for lunch after going through a big speed trap that had about 8 cops in less then 2 miles with people pulled over ont he freeway. I guess they just wanted to spread some Holiday cheer also. (ASSHOLES)

I only have the rest of today to go, I have tomorrow off for community service, which is inside. Then I have to come to work on Monday and Tuesday, which we won’t be doing any work, probably just eating and leaving early and then I’m off till January 5th. Its going to be nice to have the time off. I need a break from work and I need a break from the drive and I need a break from working on the house, which I have been told I won’t have any work to do.

I’m off for now, you have a good one.

We had speed traps on my freeway this morning too. Almost got hit by one but I was too swift and slowed down - casually of course - in time. Bastages.
