I got home last night to my son losing is 4th teeth and although I feel I’m a pretty decent parent, I’m a shitty tooth fairy.
We put the boys to bed and then came down to watch Bruce Almighty (great movie) and San asked if we should go put the money under the pillow and I said no, he isn’t asleep yet, we will do it on our way up to bed. We (I) watched the movie and San fell asleep, it got over and I didn’t remember the whole tooth thing so I started watching The Fifth Element and fell asleep before she fell into the car. At some point in the night Nick woke up and San went to take care of him and then she just went to bed. At 6:30 she came down and woke me saying did you put the money under his pillow and I said “SHIT” and she grabbed a buck and put it in his pillow case, but at this point he was awake and that is what woke her up because he couldn’t find the money, but the tooth was gone. So he is happy that he found his money and went down to play on the computer, then San and I go on the tooth search and she finally found it in the middle of his bed. We got lucky again. I can handle Easter and Christmas, because they have set dates, but this random tooth thing is going to kill me.

First time visit to your site. You have a great looking family. I know I am going to be a parent who forgets about the tooth. I am always forgetting things I need to do before I go to bed. My boys haven't started loosing their teeth yet but I know it will be soon. They are five now and I know it is coming soon.

that is too funny... my hubby can't wait for me to mess up, cus he always likes to tell the story of how he busted the tooth fairy with the light on, looking for the tooth.
needless to say when he told me this story of my father-in-law, I laughed hysterically, and now, he feels I deserve some fairy woes in return. :0)

LOL. I've had a couple of those tooth fairy moments. Do what I do - wrap the tooth in a tissue and tape it shut. This way if it gets lost in the sheets you can quickly find it. I also write the date on the tape so we can look back on these days when he's like 30 and laugh.
