Hope all you fathers had a great Fathers day. Is it like this in your house? On mothers day, we are supposed to do everything for the mother and leave her alone for a day, but on fathers day, you are supposed to spend your day playing or doing things with the kids and waiting on them hand and foot? I thought we were supposed to be able to relax like we do the other 365 days?
We had a great weekend, once Nick stopped being sick, but I can say that we have now gone 2 days without some kid throwing up. Nick started it last week and then Sean picked it up and then Nick got it back again, but now they seem to be fine and went to their first day of Bible school. A break for Sandy.
Saturday Sean had one of his last 2 t-ball games and he was playing picture and this kid hit a pretty good grounder and he stuck it mitt out and caught it and threw it over to first. He had all the parents talking about it. Needless to say I was smiling from ear to ear and gloating over my son that I taught everything too. We then went home and I started the weekly ritual of mowing until the cable guy came and brought me my new toy. I got to play with it for 1/2 hour and then went back to the lawn (I taped a few shows and a couple of movies and now I’m looking for time to watch them. After the lawn I hung stuff up in the bathroom and now that is done, then I got to return stuff to home depot that we didn’t put into the bathroom and I bought a Mole trap. This mole has me pissed off, I spend way to much time working on my lawn to have him digging up mounds everywhere. I set it and low and it behold he triggered it over Saturday night, but I didn’t completely understand the trap so the safety was on and it didn’t snap closed all the way and I didn’t have him but this morning I didn’t see anymore holes, so maybe I scared him. I doubt it, but I won’t miss him next time.
Sunday I was able to sleep in till 7:45. We had to get up so we could go eat breakfast with Sandy’s father. The boys greeted me with my attire for the day, a nice tie dye shirt that they had made for me. They had made one for themselves, so we all had them on yesterday. Actually I have never had one, but I thought it was pretty cool. I might actually wear it again. It was better then the socks they had painted for me many years ago that got paint all over my feet and the insides of my shoes. After breakfast we ended up going out to a friend of mine to spend time with them, their family, my family by the pool. It wasn’t as warm as I would have liked it to be but the kids were in or around the pool all day and I was in there for quite a while throwing kids around and catching others as they jumped in and I even got to take some for rides on the huge whale that I am. I slept like a rock last night. In fact I beat the kids to sleep.
