Tommys Thoughts

Had a good weekend. Got to watch the Ryder Cup and it was good even though we lost. Didn’t get to watch Michigan football, but they won. MSU wasn’t so lucky, but I did get to watch that at Euchre that night where on the last round, I was able to score 17 points and take 2nd place. I would have had first, but I was playing with the 1st place person, so I wasn’t going to beat him. So it was nice that I got my Euchre covered for the night. Garrett’s soccer team (shorthanded again for the 4th week in a row on Saturday) had only 8 people there and we were able to win 1-0 with a late goal in the 4th quarter. Poor other team, they hadn’t won a game all year and after seeing how light we were peoplewise, they thought this might be the day, but they rarely had the ball over the center line.

Sunday we went and visited my parents and Dad and I took the boys out fishing in the back yard and Sean was the big winner with 5 fish. Garrett got 2 Sandy got a minnow, Nick got 2 and I got 3 and now for the fish story. I was fighting this big bass and I saw him come out of the water once, so I was really trying to get him in, but I had Nick’s rod that is like 2 feet long and finally he job again and broke the line. I was so bummed, but at least my father saw it, so he can backup my story. We then went to the cider mill and my sister and her family met us up there and we went back to her out for dinner, a bon fire and some roasted marshmallows. Driving home all 3 boys fell asleep, so we just put them in their beds. That is the best when they fall asleep in the car, bedtime is only about 10 mins instead of an hour and 1/2. I sat down for about an hour and then got to go to my first hockey game of the winter season at 11:30pm, which didn’t start till 10 to midnight. I can see that this is going to be a long Monday each week with our games being this late. We lost, but that was because we only had 8 players and they had twice as much and just wore us out by the middle of the first period. I did score and brought us to 4-3, but that was the closest we ever got. I think it ended up 6-4 or 7-4, I lost count. It really sucked because I had to get up today and come in early so that I could leave early for the school skate party that the boys wanted me at. I will pass out about 8:00pm tonight, thankfully I have my DVR set to tape all the CBS Monday shows, so I will watch them tomorrow.
