How Many Stores Is Enough?

We had a wonderful weekend, Friday night we made a fire out back and sat under the stars and had smores and pie makers (I don’t know what they really call them). Saturday Garrett’s soccer team won 14-0 (ouch). We tried to get them work on passing, but all they wanted to do was score. I felt bad for the other team, but I have been there before and its always nice to be on the winning side of those. Then we went to my nephews birthday party. I met my sister in laws new boy friend there and he was pretty cool. Sandy and I and her brother and his wife sat out all night by the fire again. I have never sat by so many fires in my life as I have this summer. Sunday was a somewhat normal day, we got up, went to church and then on our way I home I told Sandy that I wanted to make a few stops and she was OK with it, but then she threw hers in and it got comical. First stop Nevada Bobs to return golf tees and get bigger tees. Garrett and I got out of the car. Second Stop, walmart to get Garrett a booster seat ($20) walked out paying a bill of $42 after Sandy grabbed a few extra things. All got out of the car. Got back in and told the boys they didn’t have to buckle we were only going across the parking lot for Linner (lunch / dinner). We ate and got back in the car and then went to Bed Bath and Beyond to get a new paper towel holder for under the sink. $4 bucks, but then Sandy threw extras in and it cost us $25. At this point the boys were starting to complain about walking and wanted everything that they could get their hands on and we had to just keep saying no, but off to the next store we went, which was next door. Babies R Us, we were looking for a cup older for Nicholas Car seat, because we are tired of him dropping his drinks on the floor between his seat and the door. The bitching about walking was getting worse so we put Sean and Nick into a cart and Garrett climbed on the front, no one wanted to sit in the kid seat of it. “We are not babies”, yea then walk, you are very heavy to push. Now comes the funny part. While Sandy and I are looking for this cup holder thing, Garrett is pushing the cart around the store and Sean and Nick started playing this game called how much can I hurt you, they both started grabbing and pinching at each other, but instead of crying, they were both laughing hysterically, which in turn made us laugh. We didn’t find the cup holder but did enjoy that store. I had two more stores to go, so back into the car we went and over to the pet store to get crickets, I went in by myself. The last store, which of course was the only one I really wanted to go to, Home Depot, we decided the natives were over restless and that I could come back later if I wanted and you know what. I never went back, I didn’t want to work on the columns on the front of the house anyway, let them rot and fall off.

That post brought back so many memories of when my boys were young. They loved the pinching game. LOL
