Thanks Greg And Fliss

gmtpluszero.com - A great Saturday night was had by all and thanks to Greg and Fliss for putting it together. The boys loved playing in the Shale rock down by the water, maybe its time to put in that patio or maybe throw some sand down there so the kids can play. It was great seeing old friends meeting new friends and having all the kids get a long (a big plus in our life). Garrett got to use his new fishing pole and was very good at casting it out. He didn’t catch anything but I did hook a pretty good size sun fish while I was trying to show him how to cast. I don’t think he was going for the luer, I think I just got him as I was going by, becase we hooked him in the eye. It was gross, but thanks to Chris we were able to get it off the hook. I do so hate touching fish, which really sucks for the boys becuase they really like to fish.

Sunday we had a 60th / 40th birthday/anniversary party for my mom/dad. The surprise was for my mom, but we did manage to surprise my father with tickets to the Blue Man Group for them when they go out to Las Vegas later this week. We also gave them the family photo from all the kids, with the adults and just the kids, they loved them and talked about them for the rest of the weekend.

Monday after working a couple of hours from home, I played hockey with the boys and the neighbors in the street and then laid around and did nothing all day….well not entirely true. This whole playing arcade games thing that I was talking about last week, well I looked into the MAME32 from MAME and am now playing happily on my computer, Arkanoid, Galaga, Defender, Stargate, Ms. Pacman, Star Wars. Now if I can just find Donkey Kong, Donkey Kong Jr. and Frooger, I will be set. I have started looking at plans to build my own case with a computer and big monitor so that I can have all these games in an arcade style case. We’ll see how that goes. Its pretty exciting though.

At the end of the day we went for a bike ride and I stopped in a the neighbors to see how they built their sandbox. I have decided that now that summer is finally starting here that the boys should have a sandbox to play in. So as long as it doesn’t rain anymore today, I should get it framed in today, dug out tomorrow and then sand added on Friday and Saturday, I don’t know how many little bags I’m going to need, I think I just figure out the volume and maybe just have a dump truck deliver it to the house.

Glad you had a good time Tommy! Yes, I have been debating with Fliss about sand, flagstone or a combination down there by the water. Seems the kids really like the sand (well, slag in our case for now).

We really enjoyed having you guys out, a lot. I feel I'm getting to know the boys better each time. Nick is such a ham in the pics! What a smile.

BTW - still interested in the Hamburg Train thing? I don't know where you and Fliss left off on that. Mike and Vicki are bringing Alex out I think. It's on the 18th.
