Ran across this site: MovableStyle.com in my quest to find a new style for my site. I just don’t have the creativeness that I think I need to redo the site. Where do you guys get your style ideas from? Have you noticed that surfing the blogexplosion that most of the sites look alike, just different colors, but the styles are all the same. I’m looking for something that will set me apart from the crowd and make people want to stay more then 30secs when they visit my site. I know that I’m a stats whore and I spend a little time every day seeing who comes to the site and from where and I love to get comments, but I was a little upset to see that my rating was like 3.5 on blogexplosion, I guess I have some work to do to get up to the likes of Busy Mom. But that might not be my style as much as what I have to say and what you want to read.

hey i wouldn't worry too much about the ratings from blogexplosion. it looks like there are folks out there that get their kicks by giving other bloggers low ratings. as for MT Skins. maybe look into getting a free makeover through blogmoxie:

Most bloggers are using standard templates so that's why many are similar. That was the attraction for many bloggers when it became popular - no need to work on styles or HTML - just write your thoughts and hit publish. Content should still be the main thing but playing around with the way your site looks can be fun, umm and frustrating when it doesn't work. I like those blogs where you can select different skins - that is something I'd like to try.
