Well the day had finally come, the day that we would see the teacher face to face for the first time since the problems we had with Garrett and the teacher back in the beginning of the school year. She was thrilled to see us. I had feared that we would be the parents that she didn't want to see. This is her last week, the real teacher is coming back and that is all that Garrett has been thinking about and I think that is where all the problems stemmed from, but in the end I think they both learned to like each other and understand each other. I just hope that he is happy with the real teacher. I have always heard the comment, watch out for what you ask for, you might just get it. Meaning all things you want aren't always good. Some things the teacher told us about Garrett was that he loves to write, but his writing sucks (he gets that from me. That is why I type everything out and I'm sure that he will soon too, but it is important for him to learn to write correctly), he is great in math and his reading level is the highest that she can put him at. I being the horrible reader that I am was very pleased to hear this. This kid loves to read and it brings a tear to my eyes whenever he does it. We sat there last night and he was reading Charlotte's Web to me and I just had a huge smile on my face. He is really doing it.
So all in all he got great marks for the first quarter even though we thought they were going to be bad with his attitude in class, but we see how he does with the teacher he really wanted to be in class with.
