I finally finished the 3rd book of the Lord of the Rings yesterday so I was really excited to go and rent the first movie so that I could watch it this time and understand what was going on. In the past I had had problems watching it where I didn’t really understand what was going on and I would fall asleep. So I started watching it last night and I fell asleep. I guess I’m just not meant to watch this: Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring - Yahoo! Movies

I give you lots of credit for the route you've taken (going with the books first) and your persistence..
If you can get through the first one, you'll enjoy the 2nd and 3rd.. this series actually gets better with each installment! I've seen each of them about 4 times and loved them, but #3 was my favorite.
then again, I read The Fellowship of the Ring when I was about 10.. and have read it (and the other 2) about 5 times since.. so I may not be very objective..
