These first 3 days this week and been a blur. I have so much to get done by the end of this year and just haven’t gotten to it all. I need a break, my brain is melting. I guess if I didn’t wait to the last minute to do everything, I wouldn’t have this problem. But I guess that is my biggest flaw in life.
I got long winded here, so you might want to take a potty break and get yourself some food and drink before you continue.
Weekend - You can really tell that we are a married couple with kids. We got rid of the kids for the whole night on Friday and you would have thought that we would have had something great planned to do. Here it is. We went to Olga’s for dinner and then walked around the mall till 10pm and didn’t buy anything and then we left because they were closing and we went to Walmart and walked around till 11:45 and we bought some stuff there. I was so ready for bed, but I had finally finished the Fellowship of the ring before we went out and I wanted to watch the two towers. So I started watching that and made it half way through and went to bed. I got up the next morning earlier then I normally do when the kids are home and I watched the other half of two towers and then the first half of return of the king and then the boys got home and we all got dressed to go and cut down the Christmas tree. We got out to the place where you can cut them down and they were pretty sparse, so I asked if they had more of the one that we were looking for and he pointed me to another section that had a ton of them. The were just trying get rid of the crappy ones. We found one and drove around with it on top of the car of the 8 hours. I felt like the guy in one crazy summer where he had his up on top of the car and it was completely dead. Ours was OK and I got up the next morning and cut it to the right length and put it in the stand. Brought it in the house and it toppled over and broke the stand, so off to the store I went to get another stand. I then put the tree in the new stand and started doing the lights and it took me 6 hours to do the lights and it was only 5 strands. I should have turned the football game off, I spent more time watching that. So about 6:00pm that evening we were finally able to put ornaments on the tree, the two older boys were having a blast, but Nicholas could care less, I’m sure that he will be more into it next year. He just doesn’t understand yet. The next thing to do is setup all the train stuff.
Monday - I had hoped to come home and get the train stuff going and get my hair cut, but it took forever to get home and I didn’t get my hair cut till 8:00pm. We got a train running on the track but one of the couplers was broken, so I had to take it apart and fix that and by that time, I was just tired (forgot to mention that I had 11pm hockey game the night before and didn’t get into bed till 3:30) and laid down and watched TV.
Tuesday: Came home from work and gave the boys a bath and change all our clothes because we had to be at the church at 7:40 for our family picture. We got there at 7:45 which is pretty good for me, but we didn’t get in till almost 8:30. Went home and ran the one train that was up and put the boys to bed and then settled in to watch the end of the 5 people you meet in heaven, because I missed it going to hockey the other night. Well as luck would have it, I fell asleep on the couch about the same time I left the other night and still didn’t get to see the end. Thankfully Sandy had told me what happened, but sometimes you just like to see things for yourself. I woke up at 2:15 on the couch and went up to bed. Laid there for about 1/2 hour and couldn’t sleep so I got up and worked on my Performance Review for work and mailed that it, did some email and then went to bed at 4:45. Finally fell asleep about 5:30 and the alarm clock went off at 5:45. Hit snooze till 6:45, when the phone rang and someone at work was having problems and needed me to login and fix it before 7:00am. So after that I just took my time and got in here and we are having a celebration today so everyone left at noon and I have to go to a dentist appt that I have canceled 3 times, so I was going to do it again. This way I get out early get to go and go home early. Can’t beat that.
