Hello

HardwareGeeks.com - Children Under 8 Should not Use Cell Phones - I read about this this morning and couldn’t believe what I was reading. What do kids under High School age even need with phones. They can’t drive anywhere anyway, they can just use the land lines. I don’t even think that High Schoolers need phones, but ask me again in about 6 years.

I don't think kids should use cell phones either but once mine get that age, I'm sure I'm going to want them to carry one around EVERYWHERE!

I didn't think High School kids needed cell phones either...but, guess what I just got my daughter for her 15th b-day!?...YEP!

It's amazing how your opinion changes when you start thinking...what happens if her car breaks down...what happens if the guys she's with does something inappropriate and she needs to get away....

Besides THAT...she is so involved in school activities she is always borrowing someone else's phone to let me know if her pick-up time has changed, when gymnastic competition has ended...etc.

So, we gave in...OF course we kept her minutes very limited, if she wants more...she will have to get a job and pay for them herself. But, it gives us a little peace of mind!
