Moby-Dick

by Herman Melville
Its one of those books that you always hear about and thought that it was time that i read it. I expected it to be a story of a man that was going after a whale, but it was more then that. The first 3rd of the book introduced you Ishmael, who tells the story and we find in the end is the only left. The 2nd 3rd was very boring to me, it did a lot of documenting sharks, and boats and people and really didn't talk about the story as much as a documentary on Whaling in the late 1800's. The last 3rd of the book finally got into what I thought the whole book was going to be about. Capt. Ahab tracking down and hunting his whale only to end up being the hunted in the end. I was a little upset to find in the end that only Ishmael lived. I really had started to like Queequeg and was amazed that all these guys went down with the ship and in the end the whale wins again. All in all I was glad to take the time to read it, but I doubt that I will ever do it again.
