The Hanged Man's Song

by John Sandford
A king pin (Bobby) in the hacker community is killed and his laptop is stolen. This puts the hacker community into a frenzy not knowing what was on the laptop and what information they had about each hacker. The hacker's where abouts are unknown by any one person. Each person in the hacker ring has a piece of the puzzle and only one person has access to get all the pieces and put them together. Once he gets the pieces together, he calls on his good friend, who happens to be a member of the ring and they go to find Bobby, to find that he is dead and his laptop is gone. As they make a search for the person with the laptop every clue brings them closer, but at the same time information is starting to pour off the laptop. Would they get to him and get the laptop back before anyone in the hacker ring is found out? So far most of the information being put out there is about politicians and the bad things that they have done.

This book hit upon my love of computers and hacking. I was amazed at some of the things they these characters could do and some of the simple things that they did to get access to the internet and other systems connected to the internet. It was a good murder mystery and held the computer theme through out.

This was the 4th book in a series from John Sanford about a computer hacker that gets caught up in mess and how he gets out of them. I really liked this book a lot and look forward to reading more by John about his character Kidd.
