Rules of Prey

by John Sandford
I was first introduced to John Sandford by accident. I was walking through the library and one of his books was the book of the month club book and it was about a computer hacker and a thief and I thought it was great. I then proceeded to read the other 4 in the same series out of order, but not this time.

I decided that I would try out his other series called the the Prey series. Lucas Davenport is a detective in the Minneapolis police department and he creates games on the side. He is very smart and thinks like the people he stalks. In this book he is trying to track down a serial killer that doesn't kill in any pattern that the killer thinks of, but there is a patter and he just can't see it. Lucas knows the pattern, but doesn't know how to direct the killer to where he and the rest of the department can catch him. In the end the killer goes against one of his rules and loses out.

I thought this book was a good introduction to him and his work and I look forward to reading more of this.
