Sahara

by Clive Cussler
Well I finally finished it. I started this book back on 5/13 and it took me almost a month to read. I kept having the problem of reading 4 pages and falling asleep. So this morning when I couldn't sleep after the great win the Pistons put up. I grabbed said book and set off on my 4 pages and the next thing I knew I had read the remaining 100 pages that I had to go.

Dirk and Al are on the Niger river looking for a long lost sunken boat when they are called upon to look for the source of toxic that is making the red tide grow at a rate that is going to kill off the human race within a year. Through ingenuity and skill they are able to find the source of the toxic waste, the only problem is that is over 250 miles from the river. After figuring out that its being carried to the river by an under sand stream. They have to try and get back to civilization to tell someone. The spend about 7 days trying to cross the desert and do succeed, but then go back in to save a group of people that they had met that are being held captive. If it was me, I don't think I would have lasted a day in the desert.

I thought it was a pretty good book even though I kept falling asleep, but that was mostly because I can't sit for long times and reading laying down just puts me to sleep. I can't wait to see the movie to see how much the two differ.
