The Mediterranean Caper

by Clive Cussler
This was one of the first books that Clive wrote about Dirk Pitt. I don't think it was the first, but I think it was the first published. Correct me if I'm wrong. Dirk and Al are flying to a research vehicle in the Aegean sea when they here a distressed call that an American air force base is being attacked by a WWI plane. The knock the plane down and the story starts there. Where they just attacking the base to get read of the research vehicle?

The was a short but quick introduction to Dirk Pitt and one I should have read towards the beginning, but it didn't happen.
