Tommys Thoughts

After working in the yard on Saturday, which I overdid and my back has been hurting me since. Sandy decided that we haven’t gone to church in over a month and half, there is always something to do on the weekend. Well in a way it was a good thing, but for us people with bad backs, it was not. The mass was 1 and 48 minutes long. Wow you say, I know, normally our Masses are about 45 mins to an hour. We have known all year that our pastor was leaving and a new one was coming and I guess he started at the church on July 3rd, but we weren’t there we were up north. So yesterday was the day that they were formally doing the change over and normally its done with the Bishop for your region, but the new pastor just happened to be the secretary for the Cardinal Adam Mida for the last 6 years, so he came to our church and did the service. What a show that they put on the Knights of Columbus were there all dressed up and holding swords. It was great to see a mass put on by him, but he is very long winded. Definitely from the old school where you should want to be at mass for 2 hours. I’m in favor of the speed service myself, but that is more because I only go to make the wife happy.
