Friday night I left work and went to my sisters for a birthday party for my niece. We had a lot of fun and in the end, my parents took our kids for that night and the one after. I think we don’t have enough us time anymore and it showed on Saturday, we got up late, decided that we wanted to go out for breakfast and hopped in the car and drove up the east side of Michigan along Lake St. Clarie, hoping to find a restaurant where we could eat and look out over the water. Well as luck would have it, we couldn’t find anything and I was getting a headache, so we drove for 45 mins to stop and eat at a Big Boys. After we were done there, we drove about another 10 mins North and found 3 places we could have eaten at outside by the water.
Being that we had just gorged ourselves, it was good to get out and walk along the water and the beach, too bad we didn’t think to bring our suits and a blanket or something. But it was romantic none the less and to continue the fun, we drove home, got the oil in the car changed (she just loved that one), went and saw her father at the hospital. We finally ended up at home where she went out and read on the deck and I decided to mow the lawn. I know I really know how to do the romantic thing. After that was done, we needed to take a shower and get ready for dinner. I took her to Carrabba’s and we had an awesome dinner, in fact it was so good, they had to roll us out of the place. We were going to go home and wallow in our fatness and watch TV, but we decided to go check out a bar I have been wanting to go to. Hatchy’s is the name and its owned by Derien Hatcher, who was/is a Red Wings defenseman. It was pretty cool, there was lots of hockey stuff on the walls and the band that played upstairs was pretty good. It was nice to see that we weren’t the oldest people in the place. It wasn’t nice to see some of the older woman trying to look young and out there dancing. All and all it was a great night and a great anniversary, the next morning we got up and went to breakfast with my parents and picked up our kids and fell back into normal life.
Thanks for all the well wishes.
