Night Probe

by Clive Cussler
I have found that its nice to step away from an author for a bit and then come back to him. As much as I like Clive Cussler, the books were getting very predictive in the story line. So after a month and 1/2 and about 8 other books by different authors that I read, I finally found this one on CD, our library doesn't carry it, but they were able to get it for me from another library somewhere out there. I thank them for that.

In the year 1914 a treaty was created between the US and England giving Canada to the US for a Billion dollars, but as the copies of the signed treaties were been sent back to their respective governments, the boat one was on a the train another one was on, sank and disappeared and neither treaty was found. The US wrote it off as a loan and Canada remind free of the US. Fast forward to 1989 Quebec wants to leave Canada and become its own country and is finally let go and a Naval officer working on her these runs across a letter from the president from 1914 to the England talking about a treaty that no one has ever heard of. After doing some research she finds that the treaties were on a ship and a train and NUMA is brought in to salvage the wrecks and get the treaties.

This was one of his faster moving books and I enjoyed if very much, Dirk Pitt was up to his usually get intellect and surviving when everyone else would have died. Well worth the listen/read.
