In 1991 Francesca left Sao Paulo to give her discovery to the world. She never arrived, her plane was hijacked in the attempt for her and her body guard to take the plane back over they all got killed except for her, and her plane crashed in the jungle. She wasn’t heard of again for 10 years. Kurt Austin and buddy Joe were in a boat when the race was halted due to their boat and another boat crashing into many dead whales. In the course of tracking down the death of the whales, they were actually finding out about the process that Francesca was bringing to the UN before her plane crashed. Could they stop the mad woman from taking over the world and own all of the blue gold that was out there.
This was the 2nd book in the Kurt Austin series and like all of the other Cussler books, I just loved it. It read very fast and had a great pace to the plot. I never felt like falling asleep while reading it. Well worth the read.
