Becoming My Parents

the_alternative.jpg

When I was growing up I always used to laugh at my parents because they listened music from their youth. Now I find that I like some of the stuff now, but put me in a room with music from the 80’s and early 90’s and I’m in heaven. I remember staying up late every Sunday night while in college and after (till I was too tired to work the next day) watching 120 minutes on MTV, I don’t know if they show it anymore, but as with most old people I have moved on to watching VH1 and they have The Alternative on VH1 Classic. Which is what I’m watching now for 2 great hours, but at a time more suited to my sleeping. 9 to 11 instead of 12 to 2. I think a channel that just plays this stuff all day long would really work, but I don’t see anyone doing it. They just like to do it for a couple of hours if they do it at all.

Put some Rick Springfield on, or Loverboy or .38 Special and I'm there.
