First Of My Life

Last night I had a first in my life. Something I would have thought I would have done in my teens or at least my 20’s and no its not sex. I’m still waiting for that one.

No I hit a softball out of the park last night. My first home run ever. In all the years I played baseball or softball in college and my 20’s I never even got close to hitting one. The way I was hitting this year I would have never thought I would have hit one either. My first hit in the game was maybe an error because it was a pop up to the shortstop and he dropped it. Then my next at bat I thought I just hit it really deep but the same short stop stopped me and told me that it was a home run and I could go back to the dugout. In our league you don’t get/have to run the bases if you hit a home run. I had never hit one, I wanted to do the jog and touch them all, but a lass I go to second and promptly went back to the dugout. But still very happy and even when I told the boys this morning they were excited and that excitement was lessoned when I told them that we lost again. See this team hasn’t won a game this season. We are now 0 and 12 and have 2 games left but we are hopeful that we will beat them. They only have one win. We will see.
