Go Get 'Em Tigers

38 years ago I was born and in that year, the Tigers played the Cardinals for the World Series and won. I was in High School in 1984 when we beat the Padres but I wasn’t really interested in baseball. Yea I played for 3 years when I was 7, 8 and 9 but I never played again after that. When I met the wife, I couldn’t believe that someone could love the Tigers as much as her father did. At that point, they sucked and have sucked for many years, but through it all he was there with them. Last year when he passed away, there was a day game on and they were winning in the 3rd inning and eventual won that game. We are sure that he was out there with them every game this year making them play harder and as great as they have. He made me a lover of baseball by making my kids love it and I thankful to him for it. The only thing I wish is that he could be here to watch the games with us this year as we beat the Cardinals, just like they did the year I was born.

I know he will be watching from where ever he is and he will be proud and happy for them. So Tigers win one for Detroit and all the people that stood by you when you sucked, because right now you don’t suck!

What a sweet tribute. You should make sure Sandy reads that.
