Incredible Indian

A cowboy was riding across the prairie when he spotted an Indian scout he knew, lying on his stomach with his ear to the ground. The scout said in a hushed tone, “Two wagons, four horses, two men, two women, one small child, one cow, two goats, and one very large brown dog.”

The cowboy said, “Wow! You can tell that they all came through here just by listening to the ground?”

“No,” the scout replied. “They ran over me half an hour ago.”
